Dave Zanotti, Owner

Our race team came from inspiration provided by my father, Mario Zanotti.  Dad created Zanotti Enterprises in the 1970's and was the master bike builder behind Steve Eklund.   Steve and Dad made an extraordinary team, winning the Grand National Championship in 1980, a substantial feat in beating the Harley Davidson factory team and Jay Springsteen.

Today, I carry on in the family tradition and am a motorcycle dirt track team owner and bike builder.  We do not have factory support.  What we do in our shop and on the track are 100% our efforts.

In 2005, Zanotti Racing took the California Cup Championship with rider Jethro Halbert and the team's Sam Halbert took second place. Our rider Mikey Rush brought home the 2005 Gene Romero West Coast Flat Track Series Open A Championship with Jethro taking a second place in the series.

In 2006, I decided to concentrate my efforts on one rider and I've kept it that way ever since.   Jethro and Zanotti Racing qualified for nine main events, earned a front row start at the Castle Rock GNC, and finished the year 17th in points.

In 2007, Zanotti Racing and Jethro took home 9th place in the AMA Grand National Twins series.

In 2008, we improved to a 5th place in the GNC standings.   Our goal was clear - a steady progression to the Grand National Championship.  That was our plan, Mario.  Vincere ed essere fieri!

2009 wasn't one of our stronger years.  We struggled with injuries and a bout of bad luck.   We moved on.

Starting the 2010 season, we had a new rider join the team.  2002 AMA Rookie Of The Year Jake Johnson took over riding duties.  Jake had shown great promise in his early career but struggled with the American Suzuki effort.  As soon as Jake arrived, he was comfortable on our bikes and our new combination proved to be effective.  Jake was the most consistent rider of the GNC season and we did it.  We won our first championship.

2011 found us in the cross hairs of our competitors.  It's always harder to stay on top than it is to get on top.  Again, Jake's consistent riding and our team's dedication to building reliable and fast motorcycles proved to be the winning formula yet again.  We earned our second straight Grand National Championship.

During the very rare times that I'm not at the shop or at the races, I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife Colleen, and daughters Amanda and Francesca.  With racing in their blood, they are an integral part of our team and the pursuit of the dream.
